There are generally three types of glass used in glass greenhouses. Hollow glass, float glass, tempered glass.
In the past, the common glass used in building glass greenhouses was generally float glass, usually using two sizes: 4mm and 5mm thick. At that time, 4mm thick glass was commonly used in Europe and America, and only 5mm thick glass was used in hail prone areas.
In China, 5mm thick glass has become a commonly used specification for glass greenhouse coverage due to its compliance with the requirements of the civil construction market. With the increasing number of imported greenhouses and the increasing investment of foreign glass greenhouse manufacturers in China, 4mm thick glass is gradually being used in glass greenhouses in China.
Nowadays, tempered glass is commonly used, which has been tempered on the basis of float glass and is more sturdy. Generally, the top of a good glass greenhouse is made of 5mm tempered glass, and the surrounding area is made of 5+6+5 insulating glass. The anti condensation property of insulating glass is good. Due to the presence of desiccants inside the insulating glass that can adsorb water molecules, the gas is dry, and when the temperature drops, The interior of the insulating glass will not produce condensation.
